If you want to become more involved in faith-based HIV prevention, let us introduce you to Affirming a Future with Hope: HIV &; Substance Abuse Prevention for African American Communities of Faith, an innovative curriculum for reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS among disproportionately affected African American communities.

Through weekly worship, religious education, and outreach services, the African American Church can reach thousands of men, women and youth with information and behaviors that help reduce the risk of HIV infection.

There is presently no cure for AIDS, but there is great hope in HIV prevention. Based on the premise that a personal relationship with God can be a powerful weapon against HIV infection, this curriculum affirms a future with hope…

Affirming a Future with Hope is the only comprehensive, faith-based HIV prevention curriculum on the market today.

The 37 study guides address such topics as:
Mixed Messages: Christians, Sex and the Media
Intimacy and Sexual Relationships in the Bible
Our Bodies, Our Faith, and Our Survival
Why Youth and Senior Citizens Are A Risk
The Link between Substance Use and HIV Infection
From Swing Low to Down Low: Black Women at Risk

The curriculum is offered at a nominal cost to faith leaders who attend the Faith Leaders Training Institute (FLTI). Our prayer is that each leader will agree to implement 5 study guides within the 90-day period following the Training Institute.
